Christmas 2005

Harry went to Downtown Mahattan to see Christmas decorations.
Famous buidlings like Rockefeller have beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
At the window displays, Father Chrismas was working hard to make a list of
presents for good children, of course, with his small assistants and reindeer.
There are many Jewish people in New York City.
So Harry could also enjoy Hanukkah's decoration everywhere.
Harry likes to walk around Downtown Manhattan this time of the year.
While he was walking, Harry wished everybody passing-by
"Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah".

Home Alone with Kong

Harry usually stays home alone with his kong.
The kong is stuffed with a bone-shaped biscuit.
But he can always take out only a half of it.
So he plays with the kong for hours.
When his master comes back home,
She immediately takes out the treat and gives it to him.
Harry always thinks that his master is really a genius!
Product Information of Kong is here.

Halloween Parade

The Tompkins Square Dog Run Halloween Parade is the biggest Dog Halloween Parade in the world. There were about 400 dogs dressed in a fancy costume. Over 200 of them entered in the constume contest and 10 entered in the trick contest. Harry won the Best Trick with his favourite Ring-Around-Rosies trick in a ladybird costume. The prize was $100 gift certificate at Alias Restaurant in East Village. Harry's best friend, Yuki who played dead in a Geisha costume was the first runner-up. Harry's family and friends went to Alias Restaurant three days later. The food was absolutely beautiful; seasonally-inspired cuisines with freshest ingredients. Harry's master had mussels for appetizer, a whole trout for main and peppermint icecream for dessert. Everybody thanked Harry for winning such a lovely prize.

Before & After

A groomer visited Harry at home.
She gave him a bath at kitchen.
She blew his coat with a special dryer.
Then she put him on the table and started thinking,
"How can I make him very cute?"
She started with his body, legs, ears, head and face.
Finally when she finished his tail, it was all done.
She was pleased that Harry had been good and quiet.
Harry looked a little tired after standing still for an hour.
But it was definitely worthwhile.

Doggie Musical Chairs

Harry joined Doggie Musical Chairs in AKC Responsible Dog
Ownership Event which was held at Madison Square Park.
The rule is simple.
Dogs and their owners walk around chairs on music.
When the music stops, the dogs have to sit first.
Then the owners can sit down on chairs.
There are not enough chairs for everyone.
Those who cannot find a chair have to leave the ring.
There were about 12 pairs to start with.
The number got smaller everytime the music stopped.
In the end, there remained only Harry and a big retriever.
The retriever was very obedient.
She walked around the chairs in a perfect heel position.
Then she almost automatically sat when stopped.
But remember? Harry is a super-fast small dog.
Look! He won the game!!!

Nocturn

Harry's vision is not as good as his master's.
But Harry can see better than his master in the dark.
Harry's eyes glow green at night.
It was about 9PM in Catskill Mountain in September.
Harry's master could not see anything from the tent.
But Harry could.
Through Harry's eyes,
the same scene was probably seen like this.
Harry still does not know this secret:
He can see better than his master in the dark.
So never tell this to Harry.
Or he will start going for hunting at night...

Where is Harry?

Can you find Harry?
Harry went to visit his white furry friends.
This one is easy, huh?
Then how about this?
Harry is hiding somewhere again.
That's right!
He is sitting behind the log.

Rabies Titre 2

Harry has got the result of his rabies titre test.
He needed to have a titre of at least 0.50 IU/ml.
His result was so much more than satisfactory!
180 days after the blood sampling date,
Harry will be able travel to any rabies free countries.
The rabies titre was painful, but it was worth doing.

Rabies Titre 1

Harry did a rabies titre test.
So he can enter Japan, UK and NZ without quarantine.
His microchip was read first of all.
A lot of blood sample was taken from his tummy.
1ml serum was made from the blood sample.
Then it was sent to Kansas State University.
The result can be expected in four weeks!

Treats

Harry is given various kinds of food treats for training.
Biscuits, daikon radish, freeze-dried liver, cheese and roast beef.
Biscuits and daikon raddish are used for daily training.
Freeze-dried liver and cheese are used for agility training.
Roast beef is used for something new and extremely difficult.
Harry takes those treats from his master's hand very gently.
So he wound not bite her fingers by accident.

A Piece of the Action

Harry and his master rest in a small tent during agility trials.
Funny, Harry tends to do the same things his master does in the tent.
When Harry's master's mouth is shut.
So is Harry's mouth.
And when Harry's master is smiling.
So is Harry!
Harry always wants a piece of the action of his master.

Swimming

It was a very hot and humid day in Stowe, Vermont.
Harry went to a river with his friends, Benny and Banjo.
Benny and Banjo are excellent swimmers.
They started playing with a ball in the river.
Harry was a little hesitant to jump in the water first.
But only for a short while.
Harry quickly learned to swim and played with his friends in the cool water.
And it was great fun!

Car

Harry loves travelling in a car.
In the car, He always stays in his Sherpa Bag.
When someone unexpectedly gives Harry and his master a ride,
he sits at his master's feet .
Harry woke up and got excited whenever the car stopped for the toll.
He thought he arrived at somewhere interesting.
But after a while, he got used to it.
Now he usually sleeps all the way to the final desitination.

Hotel

Room Harry stays at a hotel every weekend during the agility season.
He never gets nervous or barks.
He thinks staying at a hotel is fun!
Back Yard Harry watches TV quietly while his master is out for breakfast or dinner.
He walks around the backyard and greets other guests in the morning.
The photo shows a hotel backyard facing beautiful Oswego River.
Good Night! At night, he sleeps in his favourite Sherpa Bag.
He never sleeps in the bed whether at home or at a hotel.
He is not even allow to have his paw on the bed or other furniture.
This way, Harry is always welcome in all dog-friendly hotels.

Long Legs

Harry has looong legs.
There are lots of advantages for the long legs.
He has a beautiful walk like a super model.
He can run fast and jump high.
His belly doesn't get dirty on a rainy day.
The only disadvantage Harry can think of is this:
With the long legs, he can easily miss the contact zone in agility.
But who cares?

Cherry

Harry went to see the cherry blossoms.
Cherry petals were falling like snow flakes.
The same park was covered with real snow only three weeks ago.
He felt almost sleepy in the mild cherry fragrance.

Spring

The spring is springing.
The butterflies are flying
The yellow flowers are singing a happy song.
Harry is not hurrying.
But searching something interesting.
He is simply sniffing flowers in the sun.

Flying Dog

Fly! Harry is flying!?
Catch! No, he is catching a frisbee.
Get set! Get set!
Go! Go!
Aaaaagh! Aaaaagh!

Leprechaun

Harry went to see St. Patrick's Day Parade on 17 March.
How lucky he was!
Harry caught a leprechaun on the 5th Avenue.
The leprechaun was happy to know Harry was not interested in his gold.
He even allowed Harry and his master to take a photo with him.
Can you see that Harry is kissing the leprechaun?

Correspondence

Reading On a cold morning, Harry does not see many of his friends in the park.
Some dogs wake up late.
Some others never come outside when it snows.
But they have a state-of-art communication network.
Now Harry is reading a message from someone.
Replying Harry is replying.
"I am doing alright too!"

To Eat or Not to Eat

Is this mine?
No, it cannot be!
If I touch it, a shake can will fall from the sky.
Yes, I know.
I just have to pose in front of this.

In fact, the cake was for Harry's second birthday.
Harry enjoyed it with his family and friends!

The Gates

Harry went to see The Gates in Central Park.
Christo & Jeanne-Claude created 7500 orange gates.
They looked as if a golden river running throughout the park.
Harry was very impressed by the base of each gate.
He cannot remember how many times he was tempted to mark on it.
(The Gates were on exhibition from 12 to 27 February 2005)

Nails

Harry likes to have his nails clipped.
It is very relaxing.
He did not like it when he was a baby.
Now he cannot believe that some dogs do not like it at all.
He often falls into sleep while his nails are done.

Touch!

Harry often missed contacts in agility trials.
So he was trained to touch a wooden stick.
Then the stick was placed at the end of the contact zone.
On "Touch!" command, he ran to the stick on the contact zone.
After a lot of practice,
Harry now touches the contact zone even without the stick.
But only when he is practicing.
He still misses contacts in trials, but not as often as before.
Is there any other way to teach him to step on the onctact zone?

60 Weave Poles

Last year, Harry practiced weave poles almost every sunny mornings.
It was the time that his efforts were to be tested.
Harry participated in the 60 Weave Pole Challenge at a USDAA trial.
It started at 11PM on the New Year's Eve in All Dogs Gym in NH.
Harry became the mini class Champion of the 60 Weavepole Challenge!
His time was 14.51 seconds.
His name is now engraved in the perpetual cup.
It was a fun and ridiculous way to start the new year.
Harry really enjoyed it! And all the other dogs did too.
The New Year Countdown started in the middle of the games.
Everybody wished good health and happiness to each other.
