The 4th My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair
Saturday, 1 October 2005 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Northeast Corner of The Great Lawn, Central Park, Manhattan Admission is free and all dogs, kids and grownups are invited. Among the activities planned: games, contests, raffles, pet tricks, agility trials, obedience demos, Canine Good Citizen Testing.
The country's largest Halloween parade for dogs. This year they will be competing for over $5,000 in prizes, including two Apple iPod Nano MP3 Players and a weekend getaway for two with your dog. Price of admission is a $5 raffle ticket sold at the door. Dogs can register all day. However "Best Trick" begins promptly at 12:30. All proceeds for this event go to the NY Parks department for the renovation of First Run, the city's oldest dog run.There are a number of doggie Halloween events in NYC, but this is Harry's favourite!
The Westminster Kennel Club is America's oldest organization dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs. Established in 1877, Westminster's influence has been felt for more than a century through its famous all breed, benched dog show held every year at New York's Madison Square Garden. The show is America's second longest continuously held sporting event, behind only the Kentucky Derby.
Come meet your new best friend, bring your questions to the Ask the Vet, Ask the Groomer, and Ask the Trainer tables, stop by for a visit with an Animal Communicator, enjoy the lively rhythms of a Dixieland Band, and Adopt a Little New Yorker Today!
Take a morning stroll along the Riverside Park promenade for a good cause. Your best friend gets to enjoy a bunch of canine activities, including a costume contest, doggie competitions and, if you can stand it, even a doggie karaoke! And there is plenty of stuff going on for doggie people as well. $25. Day of Event $35.
Come meet some of the breeds, learn about responsible dog ownership, enjoy activities for the kids, or get low-cost microchipping. Canine Good Citizen Test will be organised in this event too.
